About Waymarker

Waymarker is an independent field notebook about geocaching and hidden-trail country, kept by a small group of people who walk in Britain and Ireland year round. We do not reproduce listing text. We add the part listings usually leave out: how the approach actually goes, what the ground does underfoot, how tide and weather change the plan, and where people reliably go wrong.

Every note here was walked by the person who wrote it. Coordinates are quoted as published and should not be relied on without checking them on the ground. Ground conditions change with season, storm and farm use; where we know of a change we record it in the maintenance log on the note.

How the site is organised

Notes are sorted into four columns by cache kind: traditional, multi, mystery and earthcache. Each note is a single long page with the coordinate and the two ratings at the top, the walk written in a narrow column, and the owner's maintenance record at the foot. There are no ratings, no leaderboards, and no paid placements.

Publication

Notes are published a few at a time rather than all at once. Anything not yet due does not appear in any list, sitemap or internal link.
